Almbachklamm is one of the easier ways to feel the limestone drama around Berchtesgaden without committing to a full mountain day. The path follows the Almbach through a tight gorge of wet rock, bridges, timber walkways, and small waterfalls, with the sound of water doing most of the talking.
It works best as a half-day outing in warm weather, when the shaded gorge is a relief from the valley heat. Wear shoes that can handle damp boards and stone steps, and check local opening conditions before setting out; alpine gorges can close after storms or outside the main season.
