The Neustädter Kirche is the main Protestant church of the Baroque Altstadt, built in the early 18th century as the church of the Huguenot refugee community that founded the planned new town. It stands in a prominent position near the Schlossgarten and is one of the better examples of Baroque ecclesiastical architecture in Franconia.
The interior is airy and white, in the Reformed Protestant tradition — restrained compared to the Catholic Baroque churches of southern Bavaria, but elegant in its own way. The church still serves a congregation and is open to visitors during the day.
