Freising is on the Munich S-Bahn network (S1 line), roughly 40 minutes from Munich city centre. Trains run frequently throughout the day. The station is a ten-minute walk from the Marktplatz.
Munich Airport (MUC) is about 10 kilometres east of Freising and is connected by the same S1 line — Freising is actually closer to the airport than to Munich city centre. This makes it a natural stop for travellers with a long layover or an early-morning flight: you can have dinner at the Weihenstephan Bräustüberl and be at the airport in 15 minutes by train.
By car, Freising is on the A92 motorway north of Munich. Parking is available in the town centre.
