Bierpinsel

Bierpinsel is one of Berlin's stranger modern landmarks: a 1970s tower in Steglitz whose red, branching shape looks part observation tower, part pop-art spaceship. It has been used as a restaurant, club, radio station, and art cafe over the years.

The building is mainly an exterior architecture stop. If you are exploring Steglitz or nearby Dahlem, it is worth a quick detour for a very different face of Berlin's postwar design.
