A tiny espresso bar on Akazienstraße that has won Germany's coffee championships more than once and has the morning queue to prove it. There is little room to sit — most of the trade is standing at the counter or taking a cup to go — and the focus is squarely on the coffee, pulled by people who clearly take it seriously.
Order an espresso or a flat white and a piece of cake, and join the locals on the pavement. It anchors the Akazienkiez, the quieter, more residential southern half of Schöneberg, with its run of cafés, delis and small shops.
