The Fernsehturm is Berlin's television tower and one of the city's most visible landmarks. Built between 1965 and 1969, it rises above Alexanderplatz with a viewing platform and restaurant inside the sphere.
The view is broad rather than dramatic because Berlin is so flat, but the tower is still a useful orientation point and a clear piece of East Berlin's postwar cityscape.
