Arkonaplatz Flea Market

Sunday flea market with DDR curiosities and 60s design bargains

Address Arkonaplatz

One of Berlin's nicest flea markets fills Arkonaplatz every Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Old tenement houses with their working-class history surround the square, and rows of stalls spread out under the chestnut trees. The selection ranges from bizarre household objects that will gladden the hearts of anyone nostalgic for bygone East Germany, to books and 60s and 70s design pieces that cost three times as much elsewhere.

Mostly young people come here, still showing the effects of the previous night's club marathon, which means you can snap up real bargains if you arrive early. Afterwards, settle in for a long breakfast at one of the cafes on neighbouring Zionskirchplatz.
