The twin-towered red-brick bridge spanning the Spree between Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain is one of Berlin's most photographed sights, and it earns it. Before 1989 it served as an official crossing point between East and West; today it carries pedestrians, cyclists, and the U1 line. The view east toward the East Side Gallery from the bridge deck is excellent.
