The Kunsthaus opened in 2021 in a sleek new building near the Albanikirchhof — a deliberate piece of architectural punctuation in the Altstadt, with a glass-fronted facade and a sharp roofline. It mounts changing shows of contemporary photography, sculpture and painting, with a particular emphasis on artists with Lower Saxon connections.
