Lister Meile

Long pedestrianised street through the List district, lined with cafes

A two-kilometre pedestrian boulevard running north from the Lister Platz, the longest in Hanover. Cafes, independent shops, a weekly farmers' market on Wednesday and Saturday and a steady traffic of cyclists and parents with prams.

The southern end runs into the "Bermuda Triangle" of bars around the Steintor — the unofficial heart of the city's nightlife. The street has a relaxed, almost village atmosphere most days, busier on summer Friday afternoons when the bars set out their tables.
