The café attached to Burg Altena serves coffee, soft drinks, and light snacks for visitors taking a break from the castle museum. The terrace has a fine view down the wooded valley and over the town below. It is not a place to spend an evening, but for an afternoon Kaffee und Kuchen break after the climb up to the castle it is hard to improve on the setting. Open during castle hours.
