Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof has frequent direct trains to Düsseldorf (about 30 minutes), Cologne (about 40 minutes), and Dortmund (about 35 minutes). From Düsseldorf Airport, you can reach Wuppertal in under an hour with a connection at Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof.
There is no airport in Wuppertal. By car, the A46 and A1 motorways provide the main approaches. Driving into the city centre can be slow given the hilly terrain and narrow valley roads, so arriving by train and using the Schwebebahn is the more straightforward option.
