Sankt Ignaz

Sankt Ignaz is a late-18th-century Neoclassical hall church in Mainz, with a sandstone facade inspired by Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais in Paris. Inside, the painted vaults and historic crypt add more interest than the restrained exterior first suggests.

It is close enough to the old town route to fold into a walk between the cathedral, the river, and Mainz's smaller churches.
