The Isis and Mater Magna Sanctuary preserves the remains of a Roman temple discovered during construction of the Römerpassage shopping centre. The site is now displayed below the mall, with an exhibition explaining the cults of Isis and Magna Mater in Roman Mainz.
It is an unusual Mainz stop because the setting is so ordinary: you descend from modern shops into one of the city's oldest religious sites.
