St. Severus is the landmark of Boppard's old market square. The church was built mainly in the 12th and 13th centuries, with the heavy clarity of Rhine Romanesque architecture and a pair of towers that make the town recognisable from the river. Step inside for the carved capitals and the quieter sense of age that the busy square outside can hide.
