The Mosel Radweg (Mosel Cycle Path) runs 311 kilometres from Perl on the Luxembourg border to Koblenz on the Rhine, following the river almost continuously. The section through Mehring is a particularly easy and beautiful stretch — flat, paved, and lined with vineyards on the slopes above. Trier is about 25 kilometres upriver; Schweich is 8 kilometres downstream.
Bicycles can be rented in Trier and Schweich. Most cyclists doing the full route spend a night in this section; Mehring makes a quieter and cheaper alternative to the larger wine towns. The river path is shared with walkers and is pleasant in both directions.
