The New Castle is the visual centre of Muskau Park, a restored Neo-Renaissance palace rising above lawns, water, and carefully arranged views. It was badly damaged in 1945 and rebuilt over many years, which makes it both a romantic focal point and part of the park's modern recovery story.
Climb the tower if it is open. From above, the layout of the park makes more sense: the river, bridges, Polish side, and staged green spaces all line up as one designed landscape.
