Botanischer Garten Gera

The Botanical Garden of Gera occupies the grounds of the Museum für Naturkunde (Natural History Museum) on Nicolaistrasse. It is a small garden — about 0.7 hectares — but well-maintained and notable for its plant collections, with particular attention to regional and threatened species. The Natural History Museum alongside it covers geology, palaeontology, and regional flora and fauna.

For a city of Gera's size, the combination of botanical garden and natural history museum represents a genuine cultural resource. The garden is freely accessible during opening hours; the museum charges a modest entry fee. Both are within easy walking distance of the city centre.
