Folklore Museum of Amorgos

Small Chora museum preserving Amorgos household objects, costumes, and island traditions.

The Folklore Museum of Amorgos is a modest Chora stop, tucked into the old village rather than announced with grand museum architecture. Its displays focus on household life, dress, tools, and the small objects that made island routines work before ferries, tourism, and modern services changed the rhythm of Amorgos.

It is best treated as a companion to wandering Chora’s lanes and windmill views. The museum will not compete with Hozoviotissa Monastery for drama, but it gives the island a human scale: kitchens, fabrics, work, and domestic memory instead of only cliffs and whitewashed alleys.
