Kavourotrypes Beach

Kavourotrypes, on Sithonia's southeast coast between Sarti and Armenistis, is not a single beach but a series of tiny coves separated by smooth, rounded white rocks. The name means "crab holes" — a reference to the way the sea has carved out small pockets in the limestone.

Each cove is just big enough for a handful of people, and on the right day the contrast between the white rocks, the deep green pines just behind, and the clear pale-blue water is the picture-postcard image of Halkidiki. There are no facilities — bring water, food, and a snorkel. Access is via a short walk down from the coastal road.
