Prehistoric to Roman finds from across Epirus

The regional Archaeological Museum, in a modernist building set inside Litharitsa Park, holds finds from sites across Epirus. The collection covers the prehistoric, classical, Hellenistic, Roman, and early Byzantine periods, with strong material from the oracle sanctuary at Dodona — bronze tripods, votive offerings, and an extraordinary set of inscribed lead tablets used to consult the oracle.

Other highlights include grave goods from the warrior tombs of Vitsa in the Zagori hills, Hellenistic statuary, and a small Roman mosaic floor. The museum is small enough to do in 90 minutes and is a useful primer before visiting Dodona itself half an hour away.
