Syntagma Square

Syntagma is the heart of the old town: a wide marble-paved square ringed by the old Venetian arsenal (now the Archaeological Museum), the Vouleftikon mosque-turned-parliament, and a row of cafes that come to life in the evening.

The square fills with families taking their volta in the early evening, children chasing pigeons across the marble, and groups of friends arguing politics over coffee. There is no particular sight to tick off here — it is the place itself, the most successful piece of urban design in the Peloponnese.
