Valaoritou

Former textile warehouse district turned bar and club neighbourhood

Valaoritou is the city's most concentrated bar and nightlife district, a cluster of streets between Aristotelous and the railway station where the old textile warehouses have been converted into an unbroken sequence of bars, clubs, live music venues, and late-night restaurants. It caters to a younger crowd than Ladadika and runs louder and later — things get going properly after midnight and the best bars are still full at 4am.

The streets are narrow and the buildings low, which keeps the atmosphere intimate despite the volume of people. Many bars focus on cocktails and craft spirits; you'll also find ouzo bars, jazz clubs, and the occasional rock venue wedged between them. In summer the action spills onto the street and the whole area becomes a walking party. Come in from the Aristotelous end and explore on foot.
