Gödöllő is connected to Budapest by the H8 line of the suburban HÉV railway, running from Budapest Keleti station. The journey takes about 35 to 45 minutes depending on the service, with trains running roughly every 20 to 30 minutes throughout the day. The Gödöllő palace stop (Gödöllő Szabadság tér) is the one to use for the Royal Palace — it is one stop before the terminus and places you a short walk from the palace entrance.
By car from Budapest, take the M3 motorway northeast and then turn off toward Gödöllő — the drive takes about 40 minutes in normal traffic. There is parking near the palace.
