St Ladislaus Church

The Roman Catholic parish church of Saint Ladislaus stands on the main square and is the most prominent building in the centre. The current building is essentially eighteenth-century baroque, with later modifications, and is tied to the religious life of the Matyó community — many traditional Matyó costumes were made for church festivals and saints' days here.

Step inside if the doors are open. The interior is more restrained than the exterior would suggest, but the colour and detail of the church textiles during major festivals are something to see.
