Mezőkövesd sits on the main rail and road corridor from Budapest to Miskolc, making it one of the easier small towns in northern Hungary to reach.
By train. Direct services from Budapest Keleti station take around two and a half hours. Trains from Miskolc are 30–40 minutes. The station is on the south side of town, a 15-minute walk from the main square.
By bus. Volánbusz operates regular services from Budapest and Eger; the bus station is central. Buses to surrounding villages run from here.
By road. Mezőkövesd is just off the M3 motorway between Budapest and Miskolc — about 130 km from Budapest, 1.5 hours by car. Eger is around 35 km west.
