The thermal complex on the eastern side of town is the reason most foreign visitors stop in Mosonmagyaróvár. The water comes out of the ground at over 70°C and is classified among Europe's most medicinal — high in sulphate, calcium, and a long list of trace elements that the brochures love to enumerate. There are indoor and outdoor pools, sauna circuits, and dedicated therapy basins for back and joint complaints.
The clientele is mostly Austrian and Slovak day-trippers who come for the prices: a full day in the complex costs a fraction of what you would pay at home. Go early on a weekday if you want the place to yourself; weekends and Austrian school holidays are loud and crowded.
