Corvinus Restaurant

A well-regarded restaurant on Fő Tér serving traditional Hungarian cooking with a focus on local Sopron wines. The menu covers the classics — gulyás, pörkölt, stuffed peppers — alongside roast meats and freshwater fish. The quality is reliable and the location, in a vaulted medieval building on the main square, is excellent.

Wine selection emphasises the Sopron wine region: ask about the local Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch), which at its best is a good, medium-bodied red with genuine character. The restaurant is popular with Austrian day visitors as well as Hungarians, so booking ahead is advisable at weekends and in summer.
