Reformed Great Church

The largest building on Kossuth tér is the Reformed Great Church — a substantial Neoclassical hall church with a tall spire, built in the 1820s for what was at the time a strongly Calvinist town. The interior is plain in the Reformed manner, with high galleries on three sides and a painted wooden ceiling.

Like most Hungarian Protestant churches it is usually locked outside service times, but the keys can sometimes be borrowed from the parish office next door. The exterior is the main thing to see and is best appreciated from the far end of the square.
