The Boating Lake, on the city's northwestern edge, is Szombathely's summer escape — a long artificial lake with rowing boats, a small swimming area, lakeside cafés, and footpaths through the woods around it.
Locals come here on hot weekends to picnic, fish, or pedal swan boats. It is a short bus ride or a forty-minute walk from the centre. Combine with a visit to the nearby Museum Village.
