Við Djúpið ("by the deep") is an annual music festival held in Isafjordur in late June, alongside an academy that brings together classical musicians from Iceland and abroad. Concerts take place in the town's old timber warehouses, the cathedral, and occasionally outdoors in the courtyard of the Westfjords Heritage Museum.
The programme leans toward chamber music and choral work, with composers in residence and student performances threaded through the schedule. The festival times itself to take advantage of the midsummer light — outdoor concerts can run past midnight under a sky that never goes fully dark.
