Yoda Cave

Yoda Cave is a large volcanic cave east of Vik, named for the shape of its entrance. The cave was formed beneath a glacier long before the present coastline took shape, and its dark opening has made it a popular quick stop for photographers and film fans.

The cave is not a long underground visit; the draw is the scale of the opening, the rough volcanic setting, and the easy detour from the south-coast route. Wear sturdy shoes, especially after rain or freeze-thaw weather.
