Killaloe Cathedral is a Church of Ireland cathedral built mainly in the 13th century, with Romanesque and Gothic details layered onto an older religious site associated with St Flannan.
Look for the High Cross and the Thorgrim Stone, then fold the visit into a walk through Killaloe and along the southern end of Lough Derg.
