Doonagore Castle stands on a rise just above Doolin, its round tower and walled enclosure looking out toward the Atlantic. The castle is privately owned, so the visit is about the exterior, the lane, and the views rather than an interior tour.
It is still one of Doolin's most photogenic landmarks. Walk or drive up in clear weather and you get a fine sense of the village's position between limestone hills, green fields, and the sea. Treat it as a short scenic stop, especially if you are already heading toward the Cliffs of Moher road.
