Malahide Beach

Sheltered family beach in Malahide estuary, walkable from the DART station and village

Address Malahide, Co. Dublin

Malahide Beach is a sheltered sandy strand in the estuary north of Malahide village, popular with families for swimming and water sports. The beach faces west into the estuary rather than east to the sea, which gives it calm, warmer water than the ocean-facing beaches on the peninsula.

The village of Malahide itself is worth combining with a beach visit — it has some of the best restaurants and cafés in north County Dublin, and the castle and demesne are a ten-minute walk away. Malahide is on the DART line, making it an easy day trip from central Dublin.
