EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is an award-winning interactive museum in the vaults of the CHQ Building on Custom House Quay, exploring the story of the 10 million people who left Ireland over the centuries and their impact on the world. The exhibition is imaginative and well-designed, using personal stories to humanise the vast statistics of Irish emigration.
The museum covers the Famine emigrations, voluntary emigration throughout the 20th century, and the modern Irish diaspora in 70 countries. It has won European Museum of the Year award. Allow two hours.
