The Little Museum of Dublin tells the story of the city in the 20th century through a remarkable collection of objects, photographs, and ephemera assembled largely from donations by Dubliners. The museum occupies a Georgian townhouse on the north side of St Stephen's Green, and the crowded, salon-style display fills every wall and corner with material.
Guided tours run throughout the day and are highly recommended — the guides are excellent at weaving the collection into a coherent and entertaining narrative of Dublin's turbulent century, from the 1916 Rising through the Troubles and the Celtic Tiger. Booking in advance is advisable.
