The National Photographic Archive holds over 300,000 photographs documenting Irish life from the 1840s to the present day. Run by the National Library of Ireland, it occupies a purpose-built building on Meeting House Square in Temple Bar, with free rotating exhibitions drawn from the collection.

The archive is a quieter alternative to the busier Temple Bar attractions, and the exhibitions — which have covered topics from the 1916 Rising to Irish showbands — are consistently interesting and well-presented.
