Mitchelstown Cave is a guided limestone show cave known for its large chambers, calcite formations, and natural acoustics. The section open to visitors is the New Cave, discovered in 1833 and later made accessible with steps.
Tours are the reason to come; the older cave is not open to the public. Check times before setting out, as it is a rural stop rather than a place you stumble into from town.
