The Park Hotel has stood at the top of the town since 1897, when it opened as a railway hotel for the Great Southern. The dining room — high ceilings, big windows over the gardens to the bay — is the most formal in Kenmare and consistently the most accomplished. Expect modern Irish cooking that leans heavily on local seafood, beef, and lamb.
Dinner is a long, slow event. Lunch and afternoon tea are an easier way in, and the bar is open to non-residents for a drink. Smart-casual dress and a reservation are both expected, especially in season.
