The Scilly Walk is the best free thing to do in Kinsale: a 6-kilometre round trip along the water's edge from the town quay to Charles Fort, passing through the village of Scilly (pronounced "skilly") with its colourful houses, a working boatyard, and continuous views across the harbour. The path is flat and well-maintained, suitable for all abilities.
The walk takes about 1.5 hours at a comfortable pace — longer if you stop at Charles Fort. The return can be made along the same path or, for a different perspective, by taking the road through Summer Cove village. Start at the Kinsale Yacht Club and follow the waterside path south.
