Killaspugbrone Church is a ruined medieval church partly swallowed by dunes near Rosses Point. The visible remains are usually dated to the 12th century, but the name recalls Bishop Bron, a contemporary of St Patrick, suggesting a much older Christian site.
The ruin itself is fragile and not safe to enter, so the appeal is the setting: dunes, beach, old cemetery, and a sense of how long this stretch of coast has been used and remembered.
