Rosslare Strand is a long, gently curved sandy beach running along the southeastern coast of County Wexford, facing St George's Channel. The beach stretches for several kilometres and is backed by low dunes; at low tide, the sand extends a long way and the walk along the water's edge is excellent. The southeast coast of Ireland catches more sun than most of the country — Wexford has the highest sunshine hours in Ireland — and the beach can be genuinely pleasant in summer.
The village of Rosslare Strand has a small cluster of holiday facilities: a few cafés, a golf course behind the dunes, and some rental accommodation. Windsurfing conditions are decent when the wind picks up off the channel. The beach is safe for swimming and has lifeguard cover in summer. The railway station at Rosslare Strand is on the Wexford to Rosslare Europort line, which makes it possible to arrive by train and walk down to the beach.
