The parish church of Carunchio stands at the heart of the old village, its façade facing a small square that serves as the social center of the community. The interior is modest but contains the remarkable 1692 pipe organ, still played for Sunday services — an unusual survival for a village of this size.
The bell tower offers a sense of the village's elevation: on a clear day the Maiella massif fills the western horizon, and the wooded hills stretching toward the Adriatic are visible to the east. The church is open during morning mass; otherwise, the sacristan can usually be found nearby.
