The Majella has a mountain climate, very different from Abruzzo's coast. Late spring and early autumn are the most comfortable seasons for walking: flowers, clear air, and fewer heat problems on exposed slopes.
Summer is good for high trails if you start early, though storms can build quickly. Winter turns the range into serious snow country; beautiful, but not casual unless you have the right equipment and local advice.
