Lido di Metaponto is served by Metaponto railway station on the main Taranto–Reggio Calabria line, with direct trains from Taranto (40 minutes), Matera (change at Ferrandina, roughly 90 minutes), and Potenza (change at Potenza Inferiore, 2 hours). The station is about 3 km from the beach; a taxi or seasonal shuttle covers the gap. By car from Matera, the drive takes around 50 minutes via the SS7 and SS106.
The nearest airports are Bari Karol Wojtyla (BRI), around 100 km north, and Lamezia Terme (SUF), around 200 km south. Car hire from Bari is the most practical option for those flying in.
