Miglionico is 25 kilometres west of Matera, roughly a 30-minute drive on the SP175. The easiest approach is by car — public transport connections are limited and require patience.
By bus, there are occasional services between Matera and Miglionico operated by local carriers, but schedules are sparse and not always reliable. Check with the Matera bus station or the comune website for current timetables.
The nearest train station is Ferrandina–Pomarico–Miglionico, on the Metaponto–Potenza line, but it sits in the valley several kilometres from the town itself and a taxi or private car is needed to reach the hilltop centre. Renting a car in Matera or Potenza is the most practical option.
