Chiesa Madre dei Santi Pietro e Paolo

The town's mother church sits at the heart of the centro storico, a few minutes' walk downhill from the abbey. The current building is largely 16th-century, replacing an older medieval church on the same site, and it is dedicated jointly to Saints Peter and Paul — patrons whose feast day in late June is one of the town's quieter celebrations.

Inside, the most striking element is a polychrome wooden statue of Saint Peter on the throne, carried in procession through the streets each year. The aisles hold a handful of baroque altars and a few canvases worth a closer look. Free to enter outside service times; usually open in the morning and late afternoon.
