Diamante is compact and best explored on foot. The old town's main attraction is its murals — over three hundred large paintings cover the walls of houses and alleyways, turning the whole centro storico into an open-air gallery. Beyond the art, the seafront promenade is excellent for sunset walks, and the long pebble-and-sand beach stretches several kilometres along the Tyrrhenian. Just offshore lies the small uninhabited island of Cirella, with a ruined Norman tower on top.
