Scoglio dell'Ulivo

Scoglio dell'Ulivo is the small offshore rock at Tonnara di Palmi, famous for the olive tree that gave it its name. It is the postcard image of Palmi's coast: clear water, rough rock, and the feeling that nature has arranged something improbable just for the view.

The beach nearby is one of the easiest places to enjoy the Costa Viola from sea level. Swim when conditions are calm, but also take time to look back toward the cliffs and the town above; that vertical relationship is Palmi's signature.

A story
The rock takes its name from the wild olive that grew on top of it for centuries. It became such a symbol of Palmi that Italy featured it on a tourism postage stamp in 1987.
